What I Learned November 26- December 1, 2010

-My dad has to have some sort of sandwich spread on both pieces of bread in a sandwich or he'll get the hiccups

-Dick Wilson (not the actor, I mean the corrupt Oglala tribal chairman) was an asshole and I hope he's rotting in hell

-South Dakota was, and possibly still is, the most racist anti-Indian (American Indian) state in the U.S.

-Michael Jordan can't fight (according to Charles Barkley)

-Stephen Colbert, when not in character, is an incredibly nice guy

-Firefly is an amazing tv show, and has been added to my list of shows that should have never been cancelled

-Most personal hygiene products (makeup, shampoo, conditioner, soap, sunscreen, etc) contain chemicals and toxins that cause cancer, premature puberty in young girls, learning disabilities, infertility, and a mess of other health problems. The European Union has recognized this and made it illegal to sell products that contain such chemicals. The U.S. still hasn't but there are hundreds of companies who have pledged to keep these chemicals out of their products. For a list of companies who have agreed to do this, as well as more information, go to safecosmetics.org

-There are no laws stopping companies from claiming their products are "natural" "organic"or "herbal" when, in reality, they aren't

-Triclosan, a chemical used mostly in anti-bacterial products but also in many other products and even clothes, is no more effective at getting rid of bacteria than soap and water.

  1. South Dakota seems like a place where people still use the term "colored folks" and "chinaman", and that it's filled with trailer parks and walmarts. Heaven on Earth to be honest.

  2. Heyyyyy, I just got done watching Dexter. So don't read this if you haven't seen it yet.

    - I thought it was a good episode, but I wish it was an hour longer, so they can develop their shit out better instead of having everything at once. Maybe I just have high expectations because the other finale, Rita's death was CRAZYY intense.

    - Lumen UGHHHHH. I completely grew fond of her character, and now she sucks again. She kind of basically used Dexter, though unintentionally. "Oh hey, lets get revenge together and kill them. LOL thanks for helping me kill them, I don't feel like killing anymore. Bye."
    Dex FOREVER ALONE.

-MAN, I love Deb this season. That scene between the sheets was amazing. Like what she said, and how she said it.

-So that whole Kyle Buttler storyline just got dumped.

-ASStor did a complete 180 within two episodes.

  3. i completely agree with you on everything you said. i think itll be hard for them to top the 4th season, but theyre kind of trying. it almost seems like the writers felt like they could just kick back and relax for this season, after the massive success of last year. the episode, and a lot of the season as a whole, just felt rushed through. like they half-assed it, introducing interesting plot lines but not developing and strengthening them enough before abandoning them completely (like kyle butler, the shit with la guerta at the club, the st muerte deal, etc)

guhhh fucking lumen, pissed me off so much.

im glad theyre really developing deb more though, this season was great for her, like you said, and its rumored that next season shes supposed to find out about dex.

i hope jennifer carpenter will get an emmy nod for the season, but i think julia stiles might. michael c hall will more than likely get one too, and maybe jonny lee miller (jordan chase)

now we wait until like next september for it to come back. and breaking bad is coming back in july

  4. I think the st muerte case was just to build up Deb's character, when she shot that guy because she hasn't been the same since then. But yeah, that other cop just kind of disappeared after that happened. W/e, she was useless anyway.

What kind of cop wouldn't want to know who the vigilante is/are after all that investigation. But I guess the writers didn't want to end the show so soon with Deb finding out. I guess the show will end all together when Deb finds out.

I hope Julia won't get a nomination. She was kind of average. I thought she was gunna jumped out of the boat at one point though, when she was all smiling and music was playing in the background.

that's such a long time from now. I guess I could give that new show with William H Macy a shot.

Did you hear about Dex and Deb getting a divorce irl? Rough year for him, with the cancer an all.

  5. i swear i thought that other chick cop got shot and killed during that club scene but then she showed up again in the episode where she ratted on deb, so whatevs. she wasnt that big of a role anyway

yeah, julia was alright but i dont think it was emmy worthy.

ugh i know, they wait sooo long between seasons of shows now. its so goddamn annoying. im pretty sure im getting firefly on dvd for jesus' birthday so ill most likely watch that until i can recite every word, or those shows come back on. whichever comes first

i didnt hear about that, damn that sucks. poor michael. but that means hes fair game now, oooooh yeah xD
